To our Brookvale Families,

As you know, all FUSD schools will be closed to students March 16 - 27, 2020 as a precautionary measure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an extraordinarily challenging time for us all and we appreciate your cooperation, flexibility, and partnership during the upcoming days and weeks. The next two days, some teachers will be coming to Brookvale during school hours to fully prepare for the upcoming complete closure, while others will begin working from home. Parents should not stop by unannounced to speak with teachers/staff. If you need to come in, please call/email and schedule an appointment because not all staff will be on campus. The office will be open from 8:00-3:30 on March 16th and 17th.  It will be closed from 12 - 1 p.m. for lunch.

Teachers are working to prepare lessons and assignments to ensure student learning continues during this closure. Please keep in mind that it is no small task to provide this magnitude of work for students in such a short period of time. Each teacher will decide how learning will look in their classes - some may be using Google Classroom, others may be giving assignments from books or online sources, some may provide physical packets/worksheets, and others will do some combination of online and handwritten assignments - this is up to each teacher. Administration and teachers will be available throughout the closure during school hours via email and checking voicemails daily in case families have questions or need help. Each teacher will decide how work will be shared with families, some may send home daily assignments, while others may be providing all the work upfront, this is also up to each teacher. In the coming days, your child's teacher will be in contact with you regarding the work your student should complete during the school closure.

If your child has computer or online work assigned and you need assistance with technology access - please contact your child's teacher and school administrator to get your child the access they need. Arrangements for technology pick up should be done prior 3:30 pm on Tuesday, March 17th - after this time no staff will be on site until the end of the month. We have a limited number of chromebooks to lend; if you have tablets at home, they will suffice for online work.

This is a very chaotic time for us all and everyone is doing their best to stay healthy and meet the diverse needs of  our entire school community--students, families and staff.  As new information is available, we will send information via our Web Page and  Bright Arrow messaging. During this we ask that you listen to these messages in their entirety so that you can receive all information.  Additionally, the FUSD website will continue to provide updates.

Thank you so much for your partnership and cooperation!
