Messsage to Brookvale Parents 3/18/2020
Posted 3/18/20

Good Morning Brookvale Families,

I hope you and your families are staying healthy and doing well under these unique circumstances. As many of you know, Monday afternoon, all Bay Area residents were given a directive to abide by a Shelter In Place until April 7th. I am aware that a few families have not picked up materials or technology and unfortunately, we are unable to open the school to allow families to get any items they may still need. Teachers are working diligently from their homes to ensure learning continues. If you have not received contact from your child's teacher please email them. Email addresses for all staff are located on our schools website under Teachers & Staff - please check emails you have already for accuracy, some parents have been emailing incorrect addresses. If you do not hear from your child's teacher by the end of the day today, please send me an email so we can put you in contact.

It is a challenging time for us all, here are a few tips to help make the next days and weeks easier:

1. Keep a routine. Wake up children at the same time you would on a school day and keep them    on a schedule.

2. Be flexible. We are in a very unique time and things might not go as planned every day, that's ok! Just do your best.

3. Communicate with school staff. If you need help or have questions, reach out to staff through email. We are all still working and we are here to help.

4. BREATHE. Just take a deep breath, this too shall pass.

I will be trying to reach out to as many families as we can, to check in and see how everyone is doing. We are supporting our teachers so that students can continue to learn while Brookvale and the Bay Area are closed. Please remember that while teachers are working hard to ensure your children are learning, they are also taking care of their loved ones and themselves. Please be patient as we weather the storm together.

Stay healthy.

Mrs. Elliott
